Alaric H Walmsley promoted to Partner

We are pleased to announce that as from the 1st May 2008 Mr. Alaric H. Walmsley has been promoted to Partner in the firm of Linskills Solicitors.

Alaric first joined the criminal department in 2001 as an assistant solicitor. For three years he appeared daily in Magistrates’ Courts all over the northwest of England and proved to be an invaluable member of the team. In 2004, he saw an opportunity for a constructive career break and took time out to travel, first spending six months venturing around Australia and more recently, ‘fast-packing’ around Europe.

During his time away from Linskills, Alaric also practised in London, where he developed his legal expertise and was awarded the qualification of Higher Court Advocate. He describes one of his professional highlights as appearing in the Old Bailey, representing a client who was subsequently acquitted of serious allegations that had arisen out of a malicious prosecution.

His most recent case before returning to Liverpool, was the successful defence of a British soldier who had been accused of committing a War Crime during the recent Gulf War.

Speaking in September, Alaric said, “It is an honour to be welcomed back to one of the country’s leading criminal law firms. I am excited for the future and look forward to using my experience and knowledge to further Linskills’ reputation for exceptionally high standards.”
