Home Information Packs or HIPS

From the 10th September 2007 hips are required for properties with 3 or more bedrooms.

LINSKILLS preferred HIP supplier is PSG who are members of the Association of Home Information Pack Providers and registered with the Property Codes Compliance Board

PSG’s packs are fully compliant with Home Information Pack legislation and they are signatories to both the HIP Code and the Search Code. They bring over 10 years experience of compiling property information in to this new era in the Housing Market and we at Linskills have an established and ongoing history in sourcing property information through PSG.

The Home Information Pack is designed to provide information upfront to the prospective purchaser and their legal representatives together with important information regarding the environmental impact of the house and energy efficiency information. It is believed the HIP will speed up the conveyancing process, reduce the number of failed sales and provide advice on how to make homes more energy efficient and save new owners money.

The compulsory minimum contents of the HIPS report are :-

An Index
Sales Statement (the normal Estate Agents Information)
Land Registry Evidence of title and plans
Energy Performance Certificate
Local Search
Water and Drainage Search
