Welfare Benefits Team - Personal Profiles

Steve Lunt –  Steve joined Linskills in 1996 after 3 years working as a volunteer at the CAB where he quickly realised that the benefits system was becoming increasingly complex and difficult for claimants. He was asked to become a “Guidance Tutor” for new volunteers and was an In-house trainer. Steve now successfully combines managing the team with running his own caseload including regularly representing clients in tribunals.

Peter Thomas  -  Peter’s career as a benefits advisor began in 1995/6 when he starting working as a volunteer in the benefits department at Kirkby Unemployed Resource Centre and gaining an NVQ level 3 in Advice, Guidance Counselling and Psychotherapy. He joined the team at Linskills in 1998, specilising in Welfare Benefit Law. Peter regularly represents clients at Disability Living Allowance, Incapacity Benefit and other social security appeal tribunals.
